1. Do you have to create a user account to register for a workshop?
Yes, each user must create an account to register for a workshop. This allows users to access their entire file and keep track of the workshops they've completed and their billing history.
2. If I've taken SACCADE™ workshops in the past, how do I get them recognized in my user account?
To get any previous SACCADE™ workshops certified, go to your user folder, and follow the following steps:
- Go to the training portal and log in.
- Go to the Previous workshop certificate deposit section of the training catalog (section 4).
- Select the workshop you want recognized and add it to your shopping cart. Please note that there's a specific listing for each workshop.
- Complete the purchase (the transaction will be $0).
- In the My workshops and events section, open Filing a certificate from a previous workshop. You'll be redirected to deposit a copy of the certificate you received in class (you'll have to upload a digital copy of your paper certificate.)
- A member of our team will validate your information and the certificate will be recorded in your file. Please allow one to three business days for this step to take effect.
- Once the certificate is accepted, it'll appear in your file, and you won't have to repeat this step again.
3. I'm trying to sign up for a workshop, but my shopping cart shows an error message, and no price is displayed-what should I do?
You'll get an error message if you try to register for a workshop that requires prerequisites not registered in your file. To solve this issue, remove the workshop from your shopping cart, then add any previously acquired certificates. For the steps to get a certificate validated, please see question 2, above. Once your certificates have been validated by a member of our staff, you'll be able to add the desired workshop back to your shopping cart and complete your registration.
4. I want to take a workshop, but I haven't completed the prerequisites. Can I still register?
Unfortunately, you can't register for a workshop without completing the necessary prerequisites. All SACCADE™ workshops have been intentionally designed to allow participants to integrate our concepts incrementally. The order, breakdown, and presentation of any subject matter has been built to allow participants to gain all the necessary information to succeed in each workshop; the prerequisites are essential.
5. What's the schedule for a typical in-person SACCADE™ workshop?
Workshops take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They include a lunch break from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., a fifteen-minute break in the morning, and another in the afternoon. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. to meet and greet participants and set up equipment. There's a break for lunch, however, each participant must provide their own meal.
6. What's an e-learning (online) workshop?
A self-directed or e-learning workshop means the participant takes a workshop online, at a time that's convenient for them. Participants watch instructional videos, fill out quizzes, and complete various exercises online at their own pace, over a fixed period of time. An advantage of self-directed workshops is that participants can rewatch or review different portions of the workshop if they wish.
7. Is the content of an in-person workshop the same as an e-learning (online) workshop?
Yes, our content has been streamlined across platforms so that the content is consistent in any format. A participant can follow any of the workshop options, regardless of their format, without impacting their training path. For example, a participant who wishes to take the Internal Structure of Autistic Thought workshop online can continue their journey in the classroom, and vice versa.
8. I signed up for an e-learning (online) workshop; how long do I have to complete the entire course?
The e-learning (online) workshop is available for a period of 15 consecutive days from the date of purchase. All videos remain available to you the entire time you are completing the workshop, and you can review videos from previous sections at any time.
9. Is it possible to have more than 15 days to complete an e-learning (online) workshop?
The deadline to complete an e-learning (online) workshop is 15 days for everyone. We recommend you plan to purchase your workshop when you're sure to have the time you'll need to complete it.
However, it is possible to divide certain longer workshops into three modules rather than complete them in a single 15-day period. The content's the same; it's just been divided into three sections to facilitate learning and better adapt to your schedule or budget. You'll have 15 days to complete each module, and you can space the modules out over a time that works best for you. To learn if a workshop is available in three modules, please consult the workshop description in our catalog.
10. Can I buy my workshop now but complete it later?
It is possible to purchase a workshop and complete it at a time that suits you. After you complete your purchase, you'll receive a promotional code by email. This code is valid for one year from the date of purchase, and it's only valid for the selected workshop. To make this type of purchase, or to learn more about our terms and conditions, please contact us at (+1) 418.915.7030 or at formation@saccade.ca. Please note that you can't make this type of purchase directly on our platform.
11. What's the difference between an e-learning (online) workshop and a webinar?
An e-learning (online) workshop is one you can take at your own pace via our training platform. From the moment of your purchase, you have a period of 15 consecutive days to complete the workshop. In an e-learning workshop, you'll watch videos, take quizzes, and complete various exercises at your own pace, online. The workshop is divided into several modules, and you can easily review the material if you wish to. The online workshop concludes with a final exam. The exercises, quizzes, and final exam have been designed to test your knowledge and ensure you've understood the material. The e-learning documentation is available as soon as your purchase is complete, and we advise participants to print it out so they can easily add their own notes to the course materials.
A webinar workshop is a "live" workshop offered on our web platform. It's similar to an in-person workshop, except that it takes place remotely via videoconferencing software. The workshop is held on a specific date and time, and you must register in advance for your desired course as the number of spots is limited. At the time of the workshop, you'll need to log in to our training platform to launch the videoconferencing application. The instructors will welcome you when you join, and they'll present their subject matter much like they would in a classroom setting. You'll be able to exchange with the instructors live (with a webcam and microphone) or by chat (in a messaging space). Course documents will be available 48 hours in advance to give participants enough time to print them before attending the webinar.
12. I need my certificate to register for a workshop, but I lost it. Can I get another copy?
In case of loss, it is possible to reissue a new certificate. The participant will be charged an administrative fee of $20 (CAD) per certificate. To request a replacement certificate, please contact our administrative team at (+1) 418.915.7030.
